About Me

My name is Dave Datema.  I was born in a place called Halfway Tree (really), in Kingston, Jamaica, the last of four boys. At age two, we then moved to Sierra Leone, West Africa. I went through my grade school wonder years in Michigan, went back to Sierra Leone for junior high, attended high school and college in Indiana, and was married and seminaried in Ohio.  I served as a pastor for about ten years in Ohio, then moved to Pasadena, California under the calling of unreached peoples and Frontier Ventures (FV). I have an incredible wife, an amazing (severely disabled) son and three diva-lightful daughters. I have had several roles with FV and am currently serving as Missiology Catalyst. I am also a PhD student at Fuller Seminary.
